Have Your Say

Rimrose Hope Primary School was selected earlier this year as a pilot school for the Bootle School Neighbourhoods Programme (which aims to explore how the streets around the schools can be made safer, greener, and more welcoming for children and families).

The Pilot is a collaborative project involving pupils, parents, and local experts in school travel and urban design. Through creative workshops and hands-on activities, pupils have already helped shape a bold vision for more playful, accessible school streets that support children’s health, happiness, and independence.

We’re now expanding the conversation to include parents and carers, recognising your vital role in the school journey. Together, we’ll explore everyday challenges like traffic, crossings, and accessibility, and identify practical ways to improve the experience of getting to and from school.

Running from June 2025 into 2026, Rimrose Hope’s Walkable School Pilot aims to co-develop long-term improvements that connect the school more closely with its neighbourhood – and make walking, cycling, wheeling and scooting safer and more enjoyable for everyone.
