Halton Borough Council want to develop a set of informed priorities and plans for the future of Widnes Town Centre.
The council is working with local people to shape and prepare a plan that will guide the long term future of Widnes Town Centre. The plan will enable the town to be a thriving, central place for the local community. Local Authority budgets are currently extremely stretched. However, there are funding pots available to invest in longer term plans and projects, including from the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and Central Government. To access this funding, local authorities need to demonstrate they have a clear vision, that they know what they need funding for, and that the investment would help to generate further investment and growth from the private sector. This work will identify projects that will be used as the basis for future funding applications. We would like to understand the community's view on the type of projects that are needed.
The comments and ideas you share on this interactive website will contribute to the Widnes Town Centre Regeneration Framework. By taking part in this engagement, you are helping to shape the vision for Widnes Town Centre before any key decisions have been made.
